Life is Fragile and Finite

Was reminded last Monday of the fragile nature of life when a dear friend left this earth. If you think you have all the time in the world, you don’t. You have right now! I am not guaranteed tomorrow nor are you. Life is a vapor. If you were to die today, do you know where you are spending eternity? Ask yourself that question. If you do not know for certain make today the day you come to Jesus Christ. He is the ONLY way to spend eternity in Heaven. If you think getting baptized will get you there, if you think being “good” will get you there, if you think giving money to the church or the poor will get you there…none of these will save you! Because of sin (anything we think, say, or do that displeases God) we are separated from Him. If we die separated from Him we are separated for eternity in a terrible place called hell. It is not just a swear word, but a real place. God was not willing that any should perish in that terrible place so He sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins and yours. The sins that doomed us for eternity. If we admit we are sinners and believe that Jesus is the only way to be saved or redeemed of our sins, He will save You. Many will pray a prayer, but it is not the prayer that saves, it is Jesus Christ. The prayer is just a way of communicating what your heart genuinely believes!

A prayer might go something like this: “Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and I need forgiveness. I believe that You are the Only Way to be saved from my sins. I accept Your free gift of eternal life. I believe that You died, were buried, and rose again and that Your sacrifice was enough! Come into my life right now and be the Master of heart and life both now and forever! Thank you, Jesus! Amen.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. You don’t know what will happen tomorrow or today.
